About me

As St. Augustine prayed, my daily desire is to order my loves – that I may love God supremely above all else in my life. The more I live, the more I see how prone my heart is to disorderly love, how quick it becomes self-centered, distracted, and complacent. I praise God that He has redeemed me through Jesus’s death and that I am not marked by my resolve, but by His commitment to me. My need for Him is great.

I am a wife to an incredible husband. We live in a valley that is lush green and produces excellent wine. Our home is walking distance to our communities’ historic downtown and where our local church family meets. God has led us both to work in health care – myself as an acute care registered nurse and my husband as a Physical Therapist.

Outside of work – and in between daily tasks – I can be found reading, running, surfing, sketching or hiking. I love podcasts, quiet mornings, white water, and black coffee.

My writing and poems emerge from deep emotions, contemplations, and a discipline to remember that my only hope is found in submitting to and loving Jesus. I desire that my words may be a comfort and encouragement to others.

Life is full of great joys and sorrows – great terror and beauty. As Charles Spurgeon said, “I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me against the Rock of Ages.”

This is what I am learning – in all circumstances, in all life seasons, may we press into the one that gives us life.
